SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (SET)

PREAMBLE

The School of Engineering and Technology is the school offering Bachelor of Engineering Technology (B-Eng Tech) in Computer Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications and Power Systems Engineering. The vision of SET is to prepare effective and socially responsible Engineers (Technologists) to serve the future needs and challenges of society and industry. The SET mission is to strengthen an academic atmosphere, characterized by ion and innovation, leading to quality professionals through cutting edge technology in the field of Engineering.

PROGRAMMES

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS INTO B-ENG TECH PROGRAMMES

NOTE A

Please note that NMDS only considers students with the following minimum grades for sponsorship:

LQF Level 4 (COSC /  LGCSE and equivalent) with:

·       Grade (C) or better in Mathematics

·       Grade (C) or better in Physical Science

·       Grade (C) or better in English Language

    Grade (D) or better in any other TWO subjects

1. B-Eng Tech - Computer Engineering

1.1 Entry into First year

LQF Level 4 (COSC / LGCSE and equivalent) with: 

  • Grade (C) or better in Mathematics
  •  Grade (C) or better in Physical Science  
  • Grade (D) or better in English Language

1.2 Entry into Second year

LQF Level 5 – (Advanced Level (A Level), International Baccalaureate (IB), Certificate in STEM  and Equivalent):

  • A Pass of a minimum of two (2) Advanced level passes in Mathematics and Physics as well as any two (2) science subject including but not limited to: Biology, Agriculture, Geography, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.

OR

Minimum of Relevant National Certificate – (LQF Level 5):

  • At least four major engineering subjects

2. B-Eng Tech - Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

2.1 Entry into First year

LQF Level 4 (COSC / LGCSE and equivalent) with: 

  • Grade (C) or better in Mathematics
  •  Grade (C) or better in Physical Science  
  • Grade (D) or better in English Language

2.2 Entry into Second year

LQF Level 5 – (Advanced Level (A Level), International Baccalaureate (IB), Certificate in STEM and Equivalent:

 

 A Pass of a minimum of two (2) Advanced level passes in Mathematics and Physics as well as any two (2) science subject including but not limited to: Biology, Agriculture, Geography, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.

 

OR

3. B-Eng Tech Power Systems Engineering

3.1 Entry into First year

3.2 Entry into Second year

4.2 Entry into Second year
